Pain Points & Solution

  • Confusing User Experience

Too many competing elements made it hard for visitors to understand the product or navigate the site.

  • Poor Information Hierarchy

Key details were buried beneath unnecessary content, making it difficult for users to find what they needed quickly.

  • Brand Perception

The disorganized layout gave the impression of an unprofessional, outdated product.

  • Streamlining the Layout

By reducing unnecessary elements and focusing on clear visual hierarchy, the content became easier to digest, and key information was more accessible.

  • Brand Consistency

The redesign adhered to the company's established color palette and visual style, ensuring the website felt cohesive and professional while reinforcing the brand identity.

  • Enhanced User Flow

The layout was optimized to guide users through the site with clear calls-to-action, making it easier to navigate.

Design Process

Given materials & Requirements

The client provided a color palette, text content, some assets and a few specific requests:

  • Make the design look clean and professional.
  • Highlight the key features of their platform.
  • Ensure the site worked well on both desktop and mobile.

Key Aspects

The first step in the redesign process was to thoroughly analyze the existing website. This analysis was essential to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the current design and determine which elements could be retained, improved, or completely overhauled. The evaluation focused on several key aspects.

Website Layout & Structure

The website's layout was cluttered, featuring unnecessary pages that confused users and obscured key information.

Decisions:

Simplify the homepage layout, reduce the number of pages and improve how content was organized.

Performance & Technical Aspects

When users landed on the site, the overall visual clutter and lack of attention to detail could have led to negative first impressions, which is crucial in building user trust and encouraging conversions

Decisions:

Restructure content using headings and grids for better organization and scannability, and include prominent CTAs throughout the site to improve user engagement and guide visitors to take action.

Visual Design & Branding

The visual design lacked consistency and failed to convey the brand’s identity effectively. The redesign aimed to create a more polished and professional look.

Tillse Design System

Designing the interface

For the product page I created a simple wireframe assets of the SaaS interface. I then brought the previous idea to life in a more modern and cleaner design. I used the existing color palette to create a fun and engaging layout.

Key Takeaways

  • Clarity and hierarchy play a crucial role in effective communication.
  • Consistent branding enhances trust and recognition.
  • A structured approach to design can significantly improve user engagement, even without user research.

This project reinforced my ability to transform an outdated website into a modern, user-friendly platform that meets business goals while prioritizing aesthetics and usability.
